Veteran actor and noted filmmaker Mangal Dhillon passed away earlier today (June 11) in Ludhiana. He was suffering from cancer for a long time and was undergoing treatment in Ludhiana cancer hospital for the last one month.
He has been a part of shows like Buniyaad and Junoon. In 1986 show Buniyaad, he was seen in the role of Lubhaya Ram. He played the role of Sumer Rajvansh in 1993 show Junoon.He was last seen in TV show Noorjahan in 2000. He played the role of Emperor Akbar.
He has also been a part of films like Khoon Bhari Maang, Dayavan and last seen in 2017 film Toofan Singh. He has been a part of more films.
He had formed a production company and released a well-received historical film entitled Khalsa. He was honored with Baba Farid Award by Punjab Government for the film Khalsa. He also received an outstanding achievement award from Chief Minister Punjab in 2006 as well as various other recognitions from organisations all over Punjab and abroad.
